The Gloria Faye Dingus Music Alliance is proud to welcome world-renowned D.C. area bluesmen Daryl Davis and Linwood Taylor to the Listening Room at Drum & Strum. Davis, leader of the Daryl Davis Band and piano man for Chuck Berry, has worked with such artists as Elvis Presley’s Jordanaires, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Platters, The Drifters, The Coasters, Bo Diddley, Percy Sledge, and Sam Moore (of Sam & Dave), just to name a few. Taylor, blues guitar powerhouse, whose resume includes appearances with Albert King, Joe Louis Walker, Skip Castro, Devon Allman and this past holiday season appeared with Tommy Castro and Joe Louis Walker at the Rhythm & Blues Review in Washington, DC. Davis & Taylor will be joined by rhythm section Dean Honeycutt & Andrew Murphy for a night of explosive boogie-woogie and blues! Opening the evening will be a special guest and prior bandmate of Taylor, Brooksie Wells. Tickets $20. Seating is limited, advance purchase recommended, children 12 and under admitted free.
